Frequently Asked Questions
"What are the 'Pew Bags' at the back of the sanctuary?"

In those bags are activity books and ideas to help children focus on something during the worship service.

"Who can attend 'Children's Church'?"

Children's church is designed for kids from 3 years through 2nd grade.  It is not limited to that age group.

"When do you pass the offering plates?"

We don't.  If you want to give an offering to the church, you can place your gift in the offering boxes at the back of the sanctuary.

"Can I get the church newsletter?"

Sure.  Just get your address to us.  The newsletter comes out (usually) monthly.
"What is the structure of your church's organization?"

Our Elders are charged with being the spiritual leaders of the congregation.  We have a Church Board which makes many of the decisions in the life of the church.  Our Deacons and Deaconesses are called to be special servants of the church.  We have Ministry Teams which oversee programs within the church.

"What denomination are you associated with?"

We are an "Independent Christian Church."  We are part of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ fellowship.  This fellowship is not an official denomination - we have no structure 'above' us.

"Does this church participate in activities with other churches in town?"

Yes.  Our minister is active in the local Ministerial Association.  We participate in shared services and in some shared projects.  We want to enjoy a rich fellowship with other churches as part of the overall Kingdom of God.

"What about the church potlucks?"

Church potlucks are held on the last Sunday of the month right after the worship service has ended.  Simply bring a food dish to share and come for the fellowship.  All are welcome.
